now then boss

Few athletes embody authenticity, grit and sheer love of engineering like Guy Martin. A self-made racer, mechanic and broadcaster, Guy has spent his life chasing speed — not for trophies alone, but for the challenge of mastering machine and mind.

From the Isle of Man TT to land-speed records, hill climbs, road racing and extreme engineering projects, Guy has never followed the conventional path. His approach is simple: work hard, stay curious, and do things properly. It’s a mindset that has earned him huge respect across motorsport and far beyond it.

This year marks 20 years since Red Torpedo first met Guy, the start of a partnership built on shared values rather than headlines. Over two decades, that relationship has been shaped by mutual trust, straight talking and a genuine passion for performance — in all its forms.

Guy isn’t interested in hype. He’s interested in how things work, how far they can be pushed, and what it takes to do something well. That’s exactly why he remains such a powerful ambassador for Red Torpedo — not just as an athlete, but as a craftsman, problem-solver and relentless challenger of limits.

Achievements

He is a 15-time Isle of Man TT podium finisher, with multiple second-place finishes at the world’s most demanding road race. He has also claimed wins and podiums at the Southern 100 and stood on the podium at the Ulster Grand Prix, establishing himself as one of the fastest and most respected road racers of his era.

tea first

Guy like's things simple. No fuss. Kettle on, decent cuppa, and something mechanical that needs figuring out. That’s usually how most good days start.
